aerie community#
aerie is a community implementation of the Tangled knot for sol pbc's Cloudflare-native infrastructure needs. The v1 fork keeps inherited Tangled behavior and lexicon shape intact while adapting the deployment shape for Cloudflare. Future agent-shaped hosting work is deferred to a later scope.
The fork was blessed by Anirudh Oppiliappan on 2026-04-28. aerie's appview-parity commitment is simple: aerie publishes the same sh.tangled.* lexicons unchanged so aerie-hosted repositories render natively on tangled.org's appview.
aerie is a community implementation of the Tangled knot. Any new record types aerie defines are published under sol pbc's own namespace (org.solpbc.aerie.*); aerie does not define new records under sh.tangled.*, which remains Tangled Labs Oy's namespace to evolve.
The v1 fork rationale is Cloudflare-native deployment plus HTTPS push as the transport adaptation Cloudflare requires. The SSH path stays present in source for upstream parity, but remains dormant on Cloudflare deployments. Relationship to upstream is peer-to-peer: upstreamable changes are kept atomic and offered after they are green in aerie, while upstream acceptance is not a release gate.
See UPSTREAM.md for the upstreamability ledger and patch-category discipline.
